Our firewood has been naturally seasoned (air dried) over many months in the open air & under cover in order to ensure optimal moisture content. We monitor the moisture content of our firewood on a regular basis. Given our huge volumes of wood we cannot measure each piece & there will be some variation in moisture content given the differences in size etc. We always endeavour to provide you with firewood which is ‘Ready to burn’. For the best results we recommend adding some kindling alongside your firewood, scrunched up newspaper or use a firelighter to help get your fire started.

Absolutely not, we produce strictly seasoned (air-dried) firewood only.
Our firewood has been processed at our purpose built manufacturing facility in Gladysdale, Victoria. Each log is double split in order to produce pieces of firewood which are of a suitable size to be ‘Ready to burn’ & 25-30cm long. On occasion there may be some larger pieces which you may like to split again into a smaller piece, depending on the size of your fire & personal preference.
Seasoned firewood is wood that has been dried naturally for an extended period, typically a minimum of 6-18 months, to reduce its moisture content, making it easier to ignite and burn efficiently.
Our bulka bags are 1X1m and hold 350kg.
Our kindling bags hold 10kg and our Firewood bags hold 20kg

Generally over a Melbourne Winter season we see customers buy anywhere between 2-10m3. There is no clear cut answer however on how much firewood is the right amount to buy, as this is determined by a number of factors such as; what other heating sources you might have, how frequently you burn, how long you burn, if you burn all day or only at night & where you can store your wood. Every home home or business will use wood really differently. The efficiency of your wood heater, the size of your home or family, the design of your home, use of alternative heaters like efficient air-conditioners, will all make a big difference to your wood needs:
2 m3 might be enough for regular winter fires – more for enjoyment than keeping you warm everyday;
4 m3 could be enough for a small-to-medium sized home, to stay warm most of winter, with occasional top up from an efficient split system air-conditioner;
6-8 m3 should get you through winter and shoulder seasons, for a medium sized home using wood for heat;
10 m3 or more is likely enough for a medium-to-large sized house, using an efficient wood heater daily through winter & shoulder seasons. Please contact us for more advice.
